Oxfam GB works in more than 80 countries to provide people with the support they need to overcome poverty and suffering.


We have been working to reduce poverty and suffering and implement the development and disaster response programme in Bangladesh since the War of Independence (1971), and establish our permanent country office in 1972. We are committed to ensuring diversity and gender equality within our organisation and do not discriminate against applicants or employees based on their HIV/AIDS status.

Oxfam GB’s Bangladesh office is planning to conduct the end evaluation of one of its Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) projects, “Building Community Resilience to Floods in Central Region of Bangladesh” funded by ECHO under the fifth DIPECHO action plan. Evaluation is expected to be carried out 25 October to 10 December 2010.
