The Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University is Canada's leading institute specialized in leadership education for development. Today, more than 5000 Coady graduates are transforming communities and organizations in over 130 countries.
As Director of the Coady Institute and University Vice President you report to the President of St. Francis Xavier University and are a member of the University’s Executive Team. You will provide the compelling vision and strategic direction that will continue to position the Coady Institute as a knowledge leader and innovator. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will drive expansion of the Coady’s educational programming, research and partnership development initiatives. You will ensure the Institute’s fiscal health through ongoing fundraising, innovative campaigns and donor stewardship. In your capacity as Vice President, you will contribute directly to the University’s overall direction while cultivating opportunities to create leverage between the Coady Institute and the University more broadly.
As the ideal candidate, you have a strong understanding of the international development arena, familiarity with the latest innovations in development practice, and passion for the role that leadership education plays in effecting positive change. You have significant leadership experience with an international or internationally-focused NGO, or have held a senior government and/or private sector position working in an international context. Your ability to see and build upon opportunity will be highly valued, as will your impressive record of organizational leadership, fiscal management, community development and stakeholder relations.
