Mission:
The Professional Services Developer will be responsible for building features and extensions on the OpenX Ad Server, serving as an elite technical consultant for our largest customers. Their ability to deliver quality code and satisfy clients directly affects the bottom line of the business.
Role:
This is a senior developer role, requiring extensive programming and systems experience. The candidate will be expected to communicate directly with clients on technical issues, and come up with creative but stable and scalable solutions to a variety of challenging problems.
Responsibilities:
* Develop extensions and/or plugins on the core OpenX ad server, Enterprise or Download, to satisfy the needs of our clients.
* Write code that is stable, re-usable, and massively scalable.
* Work closely with business development, sales engineers, product, and core engineering team members ensure features being developed are in line with internal standards and technology.
* Communicate directly with client business and technical resources to elicit and satisfy their requirements.
* Accumulate knowledge and become the absolute technical expert on the OpenX Ad Server.
Technical Requirements:
* Fluency in at least one programming language (PHP, Java and C)
* Familiarity and appreciation of software development best practices
* Experience of automated unit and integration testing, software configuration management
* Knowledge of MySQL database, database schema design and query optimization
* Experience with benchmarking and profiling tools and performance optimization
* Software architecture design skills
* Experience in building web services API and distributed systems
* Understanding of full software development life cycle
* Analytical abilities
* Excellent communication skills
* University degree in Computing Science or related field
Strongly Desired:
* Knowledge of Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat configuration and usage
* Experience with back-end technologies: Hibernate, Doctrine, Spring, Hadoop
* Experience with front-end technologies: Smarty, Zend Framework, JSP, Spring MVC
* Experience with web services technologies: SOAP, XML-RPC, REST, Thrift, Protocol Buffers
* Knowledge of test frameworks: JUnit, Simpletest, PHPUnit
* Experience in developing software for the Linux platform
* Experience of online advertising industry
* Experience of working with Agile project methodology
* Experience in technical consultancy
