Deputy Chief of Party, Zimbabwe

We are currently seeking a Deputy Chief of Party for an upcoming multiyear USAID program in Zimbabwe. This is an agricultural marketing and productivity program focusing on improving economic growth and increasing food security.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Chief of Party with overseeing and managing the ACDI/VOCA program in Zimbabwe. When required, assume higher representational responsibilities, serving as the acting Chief of Party in the COP’s absence.
• Communicate regularly and share program information with other USAID project managers, bilateral donors, international organizations and other indigenous and international NGOs to ensure visibility of ACDI/VOCA activities.
• Communicate regularly and facilitate buy-in with national and local stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between ACDI/VOCA and outside organizations related to ACDI/VOCA activities.
• Assist the COP in developing and implementing a project strategy and an integrated program approach to further promote cohesion in activities and maximize resource use.
• Ensure compliance among key staff with all corporate and local ACDI/VOCA policies and procedures. In coordination with the COP, oversee budgets to ensure all expenditures are in compliance with ACDI/VOCA and donor policies and regulations as well as within the scope of the program budget.

Qualifications:
• Must have extensive experience working in Zimbabwe as well as the region, with a strong track record for building collaborative relationships, excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and evidence of successfully working with public and private stakeholders at the national and local levels.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing complex programs.
• Familiarity with USAID procedures and policies is preferred.
• An M.B.A., Ph.D., M.S., J.D. or other graduate-level degree in a relevant field is required.
• Fluency in English is required, fluency in Shona or Ndebele is preferred.
