ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries and revenues of over $124 million.

Technical Specialists, Eastern and Southern Africa

We are currently seeking technical specialists for anticipated long- and short-term assignments on upcoming task orders to be issued under the USAID-funded “Support for Food Security Activities” (SFSA) Indefinite Quantity Contract. The task orders will be based in eastern and southern Africa and will focus on increasing agricultural productivity, agricultural market facilitation, value chain development, trade facilitation, regulatory and policy reform, humanitarian assistance projects, and other activities that promote food security. They will also help to build regional capacity at the local level in addressing production, marketing, value chain and trade constraints to economic growth, and pro-market provision of humanitarian assistance. Targeted technical areas include: food security, agricultural market development (including livestock), trade policy, agribusiness development, producer organization development, agronomy, irrigation, post-harvest processing, agricultural economics and rural finance.

Qualifications:
• M.S., M.B.A. or other post-graduate degree in a relevant technical field
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive work experience in a development context working in relevant technical areas
• Experience providing training, capacity building or mentoring in a local context on relevant technical subjects
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Fluency in English required
