Global Rights-Nigeria currently works to build the capacity of our partner organizations in Northern Nigeria in the skills of monitoring and documenting human rights violations and in the provision of paralegal training and paralegal services for women.
Global Rights-Nigeria seeks a senior-level Program Officer to manage and implement capacity-building projects and to provide training and technical support to our partners in the project states. S/he will also be responsible for general program design and development and for other duties in support of the Global Rights office in Abuja. The Program officer will report to the Country Director and will work in close collaboration with other program staff in designing curricula, lesson plans, and training and mentoring activities for our partners to enhance their knowledge and expertise.
The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor of Law degree in addition to being called to the Nigeria Bar. S/he must possess at least five years’ experience in the fields of human rights and access to justice. The candidate should also have training and other forms of capacity building experience. Knowledge of northern Nigeria and fluency in Hausa would be an added advantage.
Salary and Benefits: Global Rights offers a generous benefits package which includes health and retirement plans, and up to five weeks paid vacation per year. Salary is commensurate with experience.
