Research and Evaluation Specialist/Project Manager:

Exciting and dedicated team searching for strong research specialist and project manager to work on USAID-funded assessments and analytical research related to the education programs in the Asia and Middle East Regions. The successful candidate will assist the Aguirre Division of JBS International in supporting USAID education activities; s/he will be a mid to senior-level researcher with extensive experience in the field of international education. S/he will carry out research, conduct evaluations, and develop proposals for research and evaluation work. Past direct country experience in at least several countries of the Asia and Middle East regions is a must. Primary duties will include conducting quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis, report writing, and managing a task order for USAID. Additional tasks may include evaluation design; managing other task orders; conducting evaluations; and developing task order proposals in collaboration with other team members. The incumbent will also supervise junior staff and recruit and manage consultants. Other tasks will be assigned as new projects arise.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Language: Fluency in English

Education: Master of Arts degree and 10 years’ relevant work experience OR PhD/EdD required (anthropology, sociology, economics, education, international relations or related field), with at least six years of relevant work experience.

Experience: At least six years’ experience working in education or evaluation research or related, relevant fields is required. At least four years’ experience working in or focusing on the Middle East and Asia with at least two years’ field work experience.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) required. Familiarity with quantitative (SPSS, SAS or other) statistical software, and/or qualitative (MaxQDA2, ATLAS.ti, or other) a plus.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Language: Fluency in Arabic or an Asian language

Experience: Knowledge of USAID strongly preferred.
