Position Summary:
BroadReach is currently accepting expressions of interest from potential Chief of Party (COP) candidates interested in upcoming proposal bids focused on USG, PEPFAR, USAID and CDC-funded programs in Africa. The COP will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a program with a particular focus on providing leadership, management, strategic guidance and facilitating collaboration with USG and stakeholder governments and institutions.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Providing strategic leadership and technical, managerial direction for the successful implementation of the project
• Program and financial management
• Working closely with and supervising project staff, and ensure the strategic and functional integration of all technical areas
• Establish and maintain close working relationships, partnerships, and coordination with host governments and Ministries of Health, USG-funded partners, and other stakeholders and partners, including non-USG donors
• Ensure timely and quality completion of all program technical and financial deliverables and reports in accordance with USG guidelines

Required Qualifications:
• MBA, MPH, MD, or Ph.D. in a public health or a relevant field; a medical or nursing degree is highly desired
• Minimum of ten years experience in a progressive leadership position managing programs involving HIV/AIDS, health education and behavior change communication, health systems strengthening, integrated health service delivery, and/or human capacity development in developing countries
• Extensive experience in the implementation and management of international development projects with combined experience in 2 or more of the following areas: primary health care; maternal children and neonatal care; family planning; maternal, newborn, and child health; nutrition; malaria; tuberculosis; neglected tropical diseases; HIV/AIDS; water/sanitation/hygiene; epidemiology and/or health reporting; health management information systems; behavior change communication; private sector outreach; health economics; health financing; and health systems strengthening
• Ability to develop and adhere to high-level budgets of up to several million dollars encompassing multiple program areas
• Prior experience managing 20 or more professionals while representing a range of technical expertise and working in multiple locations across a large geographic area
• Proven track record in international development project management, including: strategic planning/visioning/leadership, work-planning, donor relations, contract compliance, financial management, personnel management and results monitoring
• Must be able to travel within the region and be available for occasional international travel to participate in global or regional conferences and/or meetings as requested
• Must have prior experience working in Africa in a management role
• Experience working on PEPFAR, USAID and/or CDC funded projects and programs in Africa
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and written/oral presentation skills
