Program Summary:
The Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases, a major program of Sabin, is an advocacy initiative dedicated to raising the awareness, political will, and funding necessary to control and eliminate the most common neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)--a group of disabling, disfiguring, and sometimes deadly diseases affecting more than 1.4 billion people worldwide living on less than $1.25 a day. Position Summary:
The Grassroots Campaign Manager will be instrumental in leading the Global Network’s various grassroots campaign efforts and managing relationships with donors, students and collaborating organizations. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of proven grassroots, campaign and relationship management experience, impeccable communications skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement a strategic, overarching and integrated grassroots campaign plan to promote the Global Network’s mission, strengthening the constituency base among priority audiences in the United States and abroad and drive results
•Lead and manage the Global Network’s grassroots campaign initiatives, including the “Just 50 Cents” campaign; responsible for strategy, engagement, prospect and target identification, data and relationship management, stewardship and execution
•Strategic outreach and cultivation to targeted universities, academics and student groups, as well as NGOs, non-profit and service organizations
•Lead and manage the Global Network Ambassador program and relationships
•Ensure that constituents, donors, partners and Global Network Ambassadors receive consistent, quality communications and have highly effective opportunities to engage with Global Network grassroots campaign initiatives
•Integrate grassroots resource mobilization communications strategy/efforts with related efforts across the spectrum of Global Network programs
•Work across the organization, building strong relationships with colleagues to stay informed of the latest organizational and field developments
•Represent the Sabin Vaccine Institute and promote its mission at meetings and events
Experience and Educational Requirements:
•A Master’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent required
•Minimum of 5-10 years of professional related experience, with experience in global health, public health or other related field highly preferred; Grassroots campaign experience required
•Direct experience in an environment that has included ongoing interaction and relationship building with donors and partners
•Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of Salesforce or similar donor database system preferred.
•Professional experience in web and social media applications and communications
•Prior leadership and supervisory experience preferred
