The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. We are one of 15 centres within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our headquarters are in Bogor, Indonesia, and we have offices in Asia, Africa and South America.
CIFOR is looking for a Regional Communications Officer, Latin America.
Based in Lima, Peru and covering South and Central America, the post offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a fast moving and intellectuality challenging environment.
The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering an effective communication programme for CIFOR’ s research and mission. She/he will be expected to work with a variety of media formats and demonstrate their ability to target messages to multiple audiences across the region.
Some travel is involved.
Minimum Qualifications
•Degree in journalism, communications or a related discipline.
•Experience working in communication for a research facility or within the development sector.
•Knowledge of Latin America communication networks.
•Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
