Reconstruction Technical Advisor, Pakistan at Article 25

ARCHITECT / ENGINEER / SURVEYOR

ROLE
•Provide technical evaluation of a number of construction projects by a world-leading reconstruction NGO following the 2005 earthquake.
•Lead site visits, often to remote locations, to assess the progress and contract management of construction projects.
•Compile evaluation reports detailing strengths and weaknesses of project implementation, lessons learnt and recommendations for future actions.

REQUIREMENTS
•Qualified architect / structural engineer / surveyor with significant humanitarian experience (ideally post-earthquake assessment/reconstruction).
•Understanding of construction site programming.
•Inspection and reporting experience.
•Excellent site inspection ability and previous experience in a technical evaluation role.
•Ability to communicate technical information through both verbal and written mediums in English.
•Experience of working in Pakistan preferred.
•Knowledge of Urdu advantageous.

Article 25 is an NGO team of construction professionals designing built solutions in post-disaster and post-war locations throughout the world. Projects include:

•Post-earthquake school reconstruction, Haiti.
•Earthquake resistant housing construction, Pakistan.
•Conservation based masterplanning in the Gola Forest, Eastern Sierra Leone.
•Prototype Child Friendly School, Sierra Leone.

•Start date: Late June, on site in Pakistan.
•Duration: 6 months.
•Salary: dependent on experience.
