About Teach For All
Teach For All- www.teachforallnetwork.org - is an international network whose mission is to expand educational opportunity internationally by increasing and accelerating the impact of its members – independent social enterprises that enlist their nation’s most promising future leaders in addressing educational need. Member organizations call upon their nations’ top recent college graduates, of all academic disciplines, to commit two years to teach in high-poverty areas and to become lifelong leaders in the pursuit of expanding educational opportunity.

The founding members of Teach For All are Teach For America and Teach First in the U.K., and there are other partnering organizations in Australia, Chile, Estonia, Germany, India, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania and South Africa. Teach For All enables members to have an impact internationally by leveraging their resources and experience to help other member enterprises tackle common challenges.

Teach For All’s strategy is informed by the belief that maximizing the scale, teacher and alumni impact, and strength of these enterprises will be a function of two things:
- Partnering with strong, independent social entrepreneurs who are committed to addressing educational need through pursuing the mission that unites members of Teach For All; these entrepreneurs must be committed to the unifying principles which have proven critical to this model’s success, have a vision for adapting the model to their local context, and collaborate closely with government, education, and the private sector
- Building a strong global support network that offers technical assistance, access to global resources, and a forum for sharing and programmatic exchanges among teachers, alumni and programs.

Today, Teach For All has a $5 million budget and a staff of 25. Based in New York City, its staff members work out of ten countries. The organization was recognized with a Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2009 and has significant financial support from The HSBC Global Education Trust, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the Nduna Foundation, New Profit Inc./Monitor Group, and Visa Inc.

Ultimately, Teach For All aims to foster the development of powerful movements to ensure educational opportunity for all in countries around the world. Already, this model has proven to be a powerful catalyst in the United States and in the U.K. Today, more than 6,000 Teach For America (www.teachforamerica.org) corps members are teaching in 29 urban and rural regions in the United States, while 14,000 alumni continue working for the fundamental changes necessary to ensure educational excellence for all children. Teach First (www.teachfirst.org.uk) currently fields more than 500 participants in London, Greater Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham, and its alumni also continue on as leaders in working to expand educational opportunity.
