Operations Analyst - Access to Finance

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), member the World Bank Group, fosters sustainable economic growth in developing countries by supporting private sector development, mobilizing private capital, and providing risk and advisory services to businesses and governments.

The program is now seeking to recruit an Operations Analyst (OO) in México to support the Access to Finance team in managing its portfolio of advisory projects for financial institutions (FIs) in Mexico and Central America. The OA will report to the Operations Officer in México, and will work closely with other team members in the LAC region. The successful candidate will spend several weeks in training in the Lima office and in the Guatemala City office prior to taking up the position which will be based in México City.

The candidate should have a Bachelors’ degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related fields;, relevant experience working in financial institutions or in supporting consultancy projects; understanding of the Latin American financial intermediaries’ capabilities and constraints; knowledge of financial products/services, and portfolio indicators; strong numerical and analytical skills. Understanding of financial indicators, budgeting, financial projections, among other aspects; strong computing skills, (specially on Microsoft tools: Excel, Word, PP); knowledge of development and access to finance issues (in aspects such as, microfinance, SME finance, housing finance, financial crisis response, etc.); ability to deal flexibly with multiple and changing demands; ability to respond to situations of high demand and pressure in a timely manner; familiarity with the design, preparation, implementation and monitoring (project cycle) of consultancy
projects; solid written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish are essential; knowledge of relevant World Bank (and similar) approaches for private sector development; ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidentially, articulate issues and recommend solutions; good attitude and capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
