JOB DESCRIPTION
Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a leading indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes better healthcare for all Nigerians through the creation of strong and sustainable health systems.
CIHP is consistent with global orientation towards the transfer of program management and implementation responsibilities of donor-supported programs to indigenous organizations. This is aimed at increasing local ownership, funding effectiveness and strengthening of local talent for the adequate provision of quality technical assistance for healthcare and development in Nigeria as part of the US President's Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR II )'s central sustainability theme. The broadened scope of objectives has created the need for increased staff capacity around new and enlarged areas of focus.

We are recruiting for the positions of:

1.) Senior Strategic Information Officer x 3

Location: Gombe, Benue, Kaduna

Responsibilities

  • Incumbent provides technical leadership at the states and support the planning and implementation of Strategic Information activities
  • Collaborate with the respective states to drive the lead partner agenda of the USG and Government of Nigeria in SI activities and the establishment of a systematic processes for routine tracking and reporting and use of programmatic service statistics across all supported entities
  • Drive the implementation of a sustainable patient-level database plan including supervision, management and service statistics, quality assurance across all supported entities and projects.
  • Work with local implementing partners and State office staff to ensure that program monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the donor and projects needs
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including data quality assessments using official tools, assist in the preparation of monthly reports, and provide supportive supervision.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, Sociology, Behavioral Sciences biostatistics, public health, international health, Master degree in related discipline
  • At least 7 years post NYSC experience in monitoring and evaluation of health and/or programs, preferably related to HIV/AIDS and reproductive health (maternal and newborn health experience), including the use of data to inform decision making, communication, planning resource allocation and other strategic initiatives.
  • Good working knowledge of descriptive, inferential and advanced statistics
  • Quantitative and analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical colleague's.

2.) Senior Strategic Information Associate- x3

Location: Abuja, Kaduna

Responsibilities
  • Incumbent will assist in providing technical support in the planning, implementation and review of Strategic Information activities at supported health facilities
  • Development and refinement of Strategic Information materials
  • Conducting routine data quality checks in all supported Sites
  • Collecting, collating and reporting all data tracked by the program
  • Supervise Data Clerks to verify and edit data to ensure compatibility with data entry system and procedural requirements
  • Mentor facility staff to ensure that the data entered into hospital database are accurate, consistent and according to prescribed format.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Degree in Medical records, Statistics or any discipline in the social sciences
  • At least 3 years post NYSC working experience in the implementation and management of health Strategic Information systems (HIV/AIDS programming preferred)
  • High- level computer skills using MS Excel, MS Access, SPSS and/or SAS and Epi-Info Windows
  • Basic data management and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems and deployment of database systems for patient monitoring an asset.

3.) Strategic Information Associate - x3
Location: Abuja, Benue

Responsibilities
  • Incumbent will assist in providing technical support in the planning, implementation and review of Strategic Information activities at supported health facilities
  • Development and refinement of Strategic Information materials
  • Provide support in the development of a systematic procedure for Monthly patient monitoring and programmatic progress
  • Support routine data quality checks in all supported sites. Collect, collate and report all data tracked by the program
  • Support Data Clerks to verify and edit data to ensure compatibility with data entry system and procedural requirements
  • Mentor facility staff to ensure thatthe data entered into hospital database are accurate, consistent and according to prescribed format.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

General Requirements
  • All positions require candidates that are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, computer applications and Internet/Emails
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Significant amount of travel may be involved for all positions.
