The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (the HD Centre) is an independent mediation organisation based in Geneva dedicated to improving the global response to armed conflict. We have offices in Singapore, Nairobi and Manila with a total of 50 employees and are seeking to recruit a woman or a man as: Head of Finance
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director s/he will supervise and develop accounting and logistics employees as well as:
• Manage the day to day accounting, reporting and cash management activities under Swiss GAAP and other applicable laws in our offices abroad
• Prepare, monitor and report on budgeting and forecasting activities
• Work with external auditors to prepare the year end audited financial statements as well as project audits for donors
• Monitor status of donor contributions and provide cash flow projections
• Design, implement and monitor related internal control systems
• Manage the procurement and logistic functions of the Centre (travel and general services)
• Revise and formulate policies and procedures on related financial and administrative activities
Candidates should have 10 years of professional experience in project accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, ideally in an international environment and preferably with some non government organisations or foundations. S/he must hold a recognised accounting qualification together with practical experience of reporting under Swiss GAAP and be fluent in English and, ideally, in French. Previous experience in process improvement is considered an asset.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and training skills as well as a good analytical mind. S/he should be open to working hands on in a small accounting and finance department with a liking for providing guidance and support to non finance employees on accounting and reporting matters.
