CA Global: Engineering / Oil and Gas (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Engineering Manager (Offshore Oil and Gas). The position will be based in Nigeria.

Overview:

Overall inter-discipline engineering management responsibility for offshore oil and gas project.

Job Responsibilities include:

• HSE, Commercial, Design, Quality and Risk Management.

• To maintain and review standard technical documentation for the group.

• Monitor and review the activities of outside engineering consultants.

• Maintain contact with client representatives on engineering aspects of projects.

• To maintain and review standard technical documentation for the group.

• Oversee the preparation of designs, estimates, submission of tenders and recommendations regarding engineering designs, construction techniques, engineering procedures and the utilization of new technology.

• Understanding of engineering specifications and procedures.

• Ensure effective provision of engineering services to project management for projects mainly through directing the efforts of Project Engineers, Design Engineers and Technical Assistants.

• Management of the EPCM engineering work including resources;

• Technical coordination of engineering progression through the Technical Leads;

• Engineering support to the Execution Team through fabrication, installation, commissioning and handover of each project;

• Coordination of engineering interfacing and scheduling with other departments such as procurement, construction etc;

• Oversight of quality control of the engineering design work in accordance with company standards and specifications.

• Responsible to Project manager(s) for performance of the engineering team on multiple projects.

• Ensuring safety in design is fully implemented by the Discipline Leads;

• Monitoring the overall progress of engineering work and addresses problems areas if they arise, including assignment of additional resources or the provision of specialist help;

• Overall management of engineering resources;

• Development assistance with Engineering scheduling, discipline Interfacing and identification of Long lead critical path engineering work;

• Overall management of change within the engineering department, including scope, budget, schedule and design change;

• Identification of training needs within the engineering department;

• Co-ordination and development of Site visit charters and management of Site review reports;

• Co-ordination of peer reviews, design reviews and oversight of the squad check process;

• Identification of need for specialist input;

• Ensuring all required references and standards are available to engineering team;

• Assessing the performance and effectiveness of this plan and implementing any necessary improvements.

• Monitor and review the activities of outside engineering consultants.

• Maintain contact with client representatives on engineering aspects of projects.

• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the company

• Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Job Requirements

Ten (10) + years relevant offshore oil and gas experience in similar position is required.
