United States Agency for International Development is recruiting to fill the following position in Pristina
Senior Energy Advisor
The U.S. Agency for International Development in Kosovo seeks a Senior Energy Advisor to develop and provide oversight for its energy sector program in the Republic of Kosovo. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the Mission's 5-year strategy of ensuring that Kosovo has a reliable energy supply that meets its domestic needs. S/he will serve as the Mission's principal technical resource on energy sector development and as the primary point of contact on matters relating to energy policy. S/he will exercise significant independent judgment on matters of policy and technical direction, and will serve as the Mission's principal day-to-day liaison with other U.S. Government agencies, in particular the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, and international organizations and foreign donors engaged in providing assistance in Kosovo's energy sector. S/he will oversee a team of local and foreign experts and manage a budget of roughly $ 30 m. The projects being implemented aim to create a sustainable energy industry that serves the needs of Kosovo's own economy and that maximizes Kosovo's inherent comparative advantage as an electric power producer in the southeast Europe region. USAID's work supports the GOK in successfully privatizing the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) Electricity Distribution and Supply (KEDS) and completing the Kosovo e Re (New Kosovo) Power Plant transaction. These projects address key strategic elements to achieve energy security - diversification of supply, development of domestic resources, and energy efficiency.
