Peace Corps is managing the project "Community Data-Driven Decision Making in Education." This project is projected to take place from November 2010 through April 2011, and the initial focus will be on two Peace Corps posts in East Africa.
This project will strengthen the capacity of local policymakers to improve the quality and equity of education for their children/youth through the development and delivery of training and workshop materials promoting gender-equitable, data-driven education decision making at the community level.
A short-term consultant will be needed during the initial 5 month phase of the project. The first two months will be spent at Peace Corps/Washington before two months spent in the field. The five month engagement will conclude with one month at PC Headquarters.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
* A seasoned education evaluation specialist, familiarity with Peace Corps and/or Africa preferred
* Experience collecting, developing and testing M&E instruments and data-collection protocols
* Familiarity with a range of ICT-related data collection tools
* Training experience, including developing, delivering and evaluating training modules and Training of Trainers (TOT) workshops.
* Training experience in education evaluation at both the project and community level preferred.
