The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) ( www.nri.org ) is one of the leading agricultural research institutes in the UK with a focus on work in developing countries. These are challenging leadership positions that involve taking managerial responsibility for a department while also personally undertaking a workload of internationally-recognised research/enterprise activities. You will develop and deliver a departmental business plan, lead business acquisition, develop and maintain good client relationships, develop teaching programmes and ensure delivery through management of the available staff and resources.

You will have an outstanding profile and international credibility within a field of work covered by the Department, proven leadership experience, entrepreneurial ability and track record in developing and winning external funding.

Each post will involve extensive short-term overseas travel. The contract is permanent, but the appointment to Head of Department will be reviewed every 3 years. Appointments may be made at the Professorial level where the applicant meets the criteria for such an appointment, subject to approval by the Professors and Readers Selection Committee.

Salary £53,918 -58,918 per annum

(If appointed at the Professorial level the salary would be £60685 - £64381 per annum.)
