The Evidence, Strategy and Results (ESR) Department leads the UNAIDS technical and programmatic approach to the HIV epidemic and enhances understanding of the global response. It develops evidence, strategies and tools to improve decision-making, analyses trends and engages stakeholders at all levels to expand knowledge and maximize the use of resources. The Department contributes to achieving Universal Access and the MDGs through advocating ambitious and effective policies and programmes to address the needs of vulnerable people.

Applications are invited for the following 4 senior positions in the ESR Department of the UNAIDS Secretariat Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland:

Chief, Information for Improved Country Response – The successful applicant will provide leadership, vision and innovation for the development of strategic responses to the HIV epidemic and promote these responses at the country, regional and global levels. S/He must have extensive international experience, together with excellent advocacy, leadership and management skills.
Senior Expert, Treatment Advocacy - The Senior Expert will have as primary responsibility the development and operationalization of UNAIDS strategies for scaled up and sustainable access to antiretroviral treatment through the advancement of the treatment 2.0 agenda. The selected candidate must have extensive international experience, be knowledgeable of trade, legal and intellectual property issues and have excellent advocacy and communication skills.
Senior Expert, Prevention (Vulnerability) – This position provides key support to the development and implementation of strategic approaches which position the UNAIDS Secretariat as a global leader in addressing HIV and social vulnerability as it pertains to reducing HIV incidence. The selected candidate must have excellent analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
Strategy Specialist – This job acts as a catalyst and support for the development of forward-looking strategies and innovative approaches to enhance the response to the AIDS epidemic. The selected candidate will work across UNAIDS and externally to help identify issues, explore agendas, build evidence, and support strategic planning and analysis for a coordinated and effective response to HIV and AIDS. S/He must have excellent organizational, analytic, and conceptual skills with regard to complex health and development issues.
